In a quiet corner of bustling India, amidst the hum of daily life and the rhythm of progress, there exists a man who has embarked on a profound journey of resilience, courage, and unwavering determination. His name is Professor Dr Satish Chandra, a retired public servant and a beacon of hope for those grappling with the complexities of Amyloidosis in general and AL Amyloidosis in particular. He is grateful to all the Doctors from AIIMS, New Delhi, Max Saket, New Delhi, Apollo New Delhi, PSRI, New Delhi, Sitaram Bharatiya New Delhi, Ganga Ram New Delhi, Fortis Gurgaon, Artemis Gurgaon, Medanta Gurgaon, Paras Gurgaon, ILBS New Delhi, AFMC Pune, Ruby Hall Pune, Kokikaben Mumbai and other several doctors and experts from different parts of India have been kind to him. He had the privilege to get guidance from the experts from Mayo, Rochester, BU, UCL including Wisconcin.
The experiences with range of doctors and hospitals made him to realize this rare disease is not curable but treatable to mitigate with new norms of way of living for the patient and so is true with the caregivers. Professor Chandra’s story is not one of mere survival, but of triumph in the face of adversity. A man of profound intellect and unwavering compassion, he found himself thrust into the throes of a rare and formidable adversary: AL Amyloidosis Cardiac.
