What is Amyloidosis

Studies show it appears in about 8% of kidney biopsy cases, and 50% of AL amyloidosis patients have heart involvement. Experts estimate 900–1,200 new cardiac amyloidosis cases emerge in India each year.

Dr. Tulika Seth (AIIMS) – Petron – Amyloidosis Support Group of India

Dr Tulika Seth is Professor of Haematology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India and leads the technical working group for haemophilia and haemoglobinopathies at AIIMS. Furthermore,  she is a member of the Executive Committee of the Hemophilia Federation, India (HFI). Dr Seth is also one of the Founding Trustees of GAP health (Genomics and public health), an NGO set up to increase genetic literacy in the public.

Dr. Rahul Bhargava (Fortis)- Vice Petron – Amyloidosis Support Group of India

Dr Rahul Bhargava started his journey of Stem Cell Transplant from Medanta in the year 2010. He has completed over 1500+ transplants till date. Dr Bhargava has been credited of establishing 10 low cost centres across India namely at Sarvodaya hospital, Batra hospital, Action Balaji hospital etc. With a vision of anaemia free and thalassemia free India, Dr Rahul Bhargava actively collaborates with various government initiatives in order to provide low cost BMT treatment to the masses. 

Dr. Alok sharma (Lal pathlabs)- Principal Advisor – Communication & External Relationships – Amyloidosis Support Group of India

Dr. Alok Sharma is a prominent figure at Dr. Lal PathLabs, where he serves as the Director of Renal Pathology and Electron Microscopy and Head of Research and Development. He is a highly respected renal pathologist with extensive experience and has been instrumental in establishing the company’s large renal pathology department and its electron microscopy facility
