Encouraging knowledge exchange, medical education and collaborative learning around amyloidosis.
Building stronger connections among patients, professionals, institutions and the wider support community.
Prof. (Dr.) Satish Chandra is the visionary founder behind the Amyloidosis Support Group of India (ASGI) and Rural Development & Social Service Development Foundation (RDSSDF). His personal experience with amyloidosis became the foundation of a larger mission focused on awareness, patient support, medical collaboration and community-driven advocacy.
After experiencing the challenges associated with understanding and navigating amyloidosis, he recognised the need for a dedicated platform where patients and families could access reliable information, emotional support and meaningful guidance. This vision led to the establishment of ASGI as a focused support ecosystem in India.
Under his leadership, ASGI works to bring patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers and support communities closer together while promoting awareness, timely diagnosis, patient education and access to relevant medical resources.
Through ASGI and RDSSDF, he continues to support initiatives connected with public health, social development, community outreach and patient-centred care, with a focus on ensuring that people facing rare and complex conditions do not feel isolated.
His work reflects a continuing commitment to improving access to information, encouraging collaboration and strengthening support systems for patients and families across India.
